StemDisc™

StemDisc™ represents a major advancement in stem cell research technology. StemDisc™ is designed to improve embryoid body (EB) formation of stem cells at a higher rate and efficiency over current EB formation methods. EB formation is a prerequisite in the study of many stem cell characteristics. Scientific studies show other Shrink microfabricates wells with rounded or honeycomb-like characteristics, optimum EB formation can occur at a greater efficiency, more reliable regularity, and the ability to store 2D images of the development process. With StemDisc™, EB variation is minimized and reproducibility is increased. This flexibility of use and ease of configuration creates new opportunities for Shrink to develop further the StemDisc™ as a stem cell research and development platform in conjunction with partners and customers.

- The StemDisc™ platform will work with designs as small as 20 nanometer wells to 400 nanometer wells, depending on the application.
- StemDisc™ has garnered significant attention from the research community during preliminary data presentations. Shrink is currently working with several multi-national bioscience companies and public research labs to develop and characterize the StemDisc™ technology further prior to the launch of the product.
- Shrink is exploring opportunities with established stem cell R&D companies for potential strategic partnerships in the sale and marketing of StemDisc™ to the R&D industry.
- Shrink will have the ability to produce StemDisc™ in mass scale due to its recent relationship with EV Group, Inc.
