Corning Relationship
Shrink’s Shrink Chip subsidiary will soon offer commercial and academic researchers Corning’s complete SmartBuild Plug-n-Play Modular Microfluidic System that comprises of a motherboard, fitting components, microchannel inserts with different configurations, modules with different functionalities including detection, heating and pumping, and a printed circuit board with integrated pin connectors, and ribbon cable and fiber optic connectors for system control, data collection and detection.
2D Assembly onto Motherboard with Testing
Po Ki Yuen from Corning Incorporated, demonstrates how to use Corning’s Multidimensional Modular Microfluidic System. A motherboard loaded with multiple layers of pins and microchannel inserts is placed onto an electrical motherboard. A micropump is then connected which pushes the fluid through the microchannel inserts.
2D Assembly with Testing
A demonstration on assembly and testing of Planar concentration gradient generator and fluid being pushed through the devises microchannels
3D Pyramid with Testing
A demonstration of assembly and disassembly of 3D concentration gradient generator along with a short demonstration of fluid being pushed through the microchannels from top to bottom of assembled chips
Various examples of testing Corning’s microfuidic system including, standard configuration with a portable micropump, combination of planar and 3D configuration, configuration without a motherboard, 3D without a motherboard, and combination vertical and planar without motherboard.
